Pension Schemes Bill Second Reading Announced as 7 July

On the 6th June parliament published the bill for its 1st reading. The 2nd reading will be 7 July. It may seem as if there is a long way to go, with necessary steps of creating the Bill Committee, Report stages, 3rd reading in both houses yet to go. And the consideration of amendments and then Royal Assent.

But this train has left the station at speed. And Bill 255 is not helpful for Defined Benefits pensioners, with pre or post 97 service.

So please stand by to write to your MP again when the time is right. The core message and instructions will come via an email from hppa.org.uk.

We are also contacting some of you to ask that you encourage your MP to go forward for the Bill committee.

If you want to read the entire 59 pages as it stands at the moment then it is available here:-
