The Hewlett Packard Pension Association (HPPA), a voluntary organisation representing over 2100 members, is preparing our evidence for submission within the next 3 weeks in relation to Part 1, Chapter 2, clause 8.
In the meantime, we would respectfully ask the Committee please to consider the following question:
“Given that it was mandated by our employers at that time that employees contributed to the Defined Benefits pension fund, and therefore partly funded any surplus, is it not reasonable that pensioners should also have a statutory right to share in the distribution of any surplus?”
Yours faithfully,
Patricia Kennedy, HPPA Co-Chair
