Invitation

The leaders of the Pre-97 Pension Justice Alliance, representing the 50000, would like to speak with you informally about their situation. Sponsored by Lord Bryn Davies of Brixton, they are holding an informal event on Wednesday 29 October in Committee Room 4 of the Palace of Westminster from 5 to 6.30 pm.

Committee Room 4 is on the main Committee Room Corridor, which is accessible without formal invitations. However, you do need to go through airport style security at the Cromwell Green Entrance and then find your way to the room.

These Pre-97 Pension Justice Alliance leaders are pensioners themselves from the Defined Benefits (DB) schemes listed for the major companies listed below. The table shows the number of years each scheme has been without increases since 2002.

We have reason to believe that these companies received professional advice that pointed out the unintended “opportunities” of Pension Act 1995. The subsequent changes in their practice of annual payment of discretionary increases may reflect this advice. We will never know the cause, but we do know the effect; the pensions of 50,000 people were frozen in time while pension value has melted away substantially.

Please ask your MP to come to the event on 29 October.
