Please could you define for me what you mean by a Pre-97 pensioner. Is this based on retirement date or something to do with my years of employment?

Apologies for such long delay in replying.
Pre-97 refers to years of service before 6 April 1997 – as your pension for these years are subject to discretionary increases.
