20th September 2023
The clock is ticking now – only a few days to go, so I hope you are all busy getting ready for the day of action.
Our ultimate goal is to show our disgust with Hewlett Packard Enterprise by demonstrating outside their headquarters in Winnersh.
The address is:
HPE HQ

Winnersh Triangle
Berkshire

We are advertising in local papers in Reading and Basingstoke too.
If you are coming we need some volunteers to do a bit extra on the day:
- One or two to direct the crowds, and make sure no one gets lost
- A First Aider – just in case
Placards and a banner have been ordered, and will be there on the day.
We will meet at Winnersh Triangle Station by the carpark, and set off to walk to HPE HQ at 11.45 (5 minute walk).
We will host coffee and tea after the event at the Crowne Plaza, so we can wind down.
Address of the Crowne Plaza is:
Crowne Plaza Reading East

Thank you for the ‘action notification’, shame we have to go to these lengths as we have been treated unfairly by HP.
I hope to drive from Pangbourne to the collection point via the M4; please advise me of the best place to leave the car.
Many thanks ………………. John Morgan (John@pcrelated.force9.co.uk)
P.S. I hope you will forgive me If I fail to turn up, as I am also looking after my wife (Moira) who is in the process of recovery from her breast cancer operation.
Sadly my hopes of getting over to the UK to participate in the action day on the 20th of September can not be realised. For what it is worth I fully support this action and hope there is a great turnout and a positive result.
Wish I could be there.
How long is the demonstration planned to last? Start at 1150, ending…? “Day of Action” makes it sound like an all-day event.
Originally I said that I would come on the day of action but circumstances have arisen that mean I can no longer attend. I fully support your campaign and have signed the petition. Though the reply from HP is probably correct in that they are meeting their legal obligation I do not believe they are meeting their ethical obligations and are, as you say, putting a large number of their past employees in risk of financial deprivation. In the end this should be something that the Government should also get involved with as in the future (if not now) some, maybe many, of us will need to call on state benefits to maintain ‘a’ standard of living so effectively HMG will end up paying for HPs unethical actions.
Please feel free to use this statement as you think fit.
