Subject: Pensioners in Crisis – Roadmap to Recovery

Hello Marc,

Following the welcome news of the granting of a discretionay increase in pre 1997 pensions, the HPPA team has developed a further presentation that we recentlysent to the Trustee board and have felt it appropriate to share with the company.

A combination of unfortunate events have led to massive financial pressures on UK citizens, but many of those on fixed incomes, particularly pensioners, are facing a cost of living crisis of monumental scale.

Our paper is a further plea to the company and the Trustee to to work together to consider practical ways on how to alieviate this crisis in this and future years.

We fully understand that the company has sole decision making power on discretionary increases and we also understand the perspective and position being taken by the Trustee towards their remit and fiduciary duty.

We agree that a joint submission to the company is not appropriate and we are not asking for this. However, we would really welcome the opportunity to re-engage with yourself and other HPE executives to share our ideas and craft possible solutions.

We look forward to hearing from you with some possible dates for a meeting.

Kind Regards,

Alan Evans and the HPPA Team
