TEMPLATE:

Dear [Member of Parliament],

You have the power to change the course of my future. A major decision about pension justice is ahead in
the Commons as the Pensions Schemes Bill moves to the Report Stage on 3 Dec. As your constituent, I
urge you to sign amendment NC22 of the Pension Schemes Bill today.

If you need background about this issue, which affects between 50,000 people and 750,000 across the UK,
please go to –

You also can contact Patricia@hppa.org.uk to speak to a Pre-97 pensioner.

Our Pre-97 Pension Justice Alliance represents more than 50,000 pensioners from 12 major companies*.
We are a substantial minority of pensioners whose pre-97 pensions are not protected by pension trusts
deeds or by UK legislation. Our former employers opt out of the pension promise they made when we
became employees decades ago. Our contributions helped create the company and the pension fund but
unlike shareholders and executives, we do not get our fair share.
Parliament must act decisively now. Only clear statutory obligations will protect pensioners from corporate
cost cutting and greed.

Yours sincerely,
[Your Name & address]
